April ended with my artwork winning the poster competition for the Wimberley ArtFest.   Come see my winning painting at the West Austin Studio Tour #160 on the map in the WEST catalog.   "Colors of the Forest"  was printed on posters and t-shirts for the Wimberley ArtFest.  How exciting !

finally back

I have been settling an estate, which has left me totally exhausted.

But I see the light at the end of the tunnel, and starting to create artwork again. Have been altering advertisements with drawing. It is a challenge to make them into something to fit my current series, "In the Dark".

2011 Hunting Art Prize

I am so thrilled to make the finals for the 2011 Hunting Art Prize in Houston,TX. Will be attending the Gala and awards pressentation.

My entry this year was an acrylic ink painting on paper, "The Steppes of Mongolia"

the end of the year came and went so quickly this year but am getting started again doing shows and exhibits.

Currently in three venues. And at the Wimberley Valley Art League juried show I took 1st Place with my drawing, "Crystalline Cathedral".

This 24" X 30" drawing was all done with Faber-Castel and Sharpie ink pens.

EAST

The East Austin Studio Tour is rapidly approaching. I will be a guest artist at the Flatfork Studios/ part of Smith Road Studios at 1406 Smith Road. Will be in the warehouse in back on Nov. 13-14 and 20 and 21 from 11 am to 6pm.

Then on Nov. 20th will be heading over to Austin Artspace Gallery for the opening of the 12Buy12 show, from 6 to 9 pm. Stop by to heard live music, and see my small original paintings for this show.

Friday, Nov. 5th in the Austin American Statesman glossy insert you will see my painting, Rain Lilies, in a writeup on the upcoming EAST tour.

Georgetown art hop

Heading up to the awards ceremony for this statewide juried competition. This year my husband entered his photography, and has won an award. We will know this evening and will post the award winning photo and more information tomorrow.

Last year I won 2nd Place in the paintings category. Didn't make it this time, maybe next year.
